SDs don't want to feel obligated they want to be generous to us because they can. They want to feel appreciated. If they wanted obligations they would be looking for wives. I've had my SD for 4 years and just this year I've had to learn to be flexible when it comes to him spoiling me. Haven't been on a shopping spree or exotic vacations in about a year. He really took a hit with the recession (he's in the oil business...enough said). It can be frustrating because those are some of the things that won me over. But I try to look at the bigger picture of how he's helping me. Some SDs are schmucks and deserve to be treated accordingly. But when you have a good SD gratitude goes a long way because they do not have to help us with anything. Ms. Babe I completely agree with this.
